You can now import your Salesforce contacts and accounts into Upvise Business Contacts, with automatic linking of accounts to the Upvise list of Companies
How to export from Salesforce
There are two ways you can export your Contact and Account data from Salesforce.
1) Data Export
Click on the Setup link in the top right of the screen, then under Administration setup, expand Data Management, and click on Data Export. The Exported Data should include at least the Contact and Account types. Click the Export Now button. You will then be able to download a ZIP file which contains a set of CSV files. You will need Contact.csv and Account.csv
2) Reports
You have to create two reports: one for Accounts and one for Contacts.
- Report for Accounts:
- Click on the Reports tab, then the Create New Custom report button
- Select the report type Accounts, click Next and choose Tabular Report.
- Click Next and choose the columns to be included:
Important: Account ID and Account Name under Account General must be checked to enable automatic linking of contacts with accounts.
These other columns can also be imported: Account Owner, Description, Annual Revenue, Type, Employees, Billing or Shipping Address (Street, Address Line 1, City, State/Province, Zip/Postal Code, Country), Phone, Fax, Website
- Click the Export Details button, and choose the Export File Format .CSV, click on Export and save the csv file to your disk, e.g. with the filename ”Account.csv”
- Report for Contacts:
- Click on the Reports tab, then the Create New Custom report button
- Sselect the report type Contacts&Accounts, click Next and choose Tabular Report.
- Click Next and choose the columns to be included:

These other columns can also be imported: Salutation, First Name, Last Name, Title, Description,
Contact: Address Mailing Street, Mailing Address Line 1, Mailing City, Mailing State/Province, Mailing Zip/Postal Code, Mailing Country; Contact: Ph/Fax/Email: Phone, Mobile, Home Phone, Fax, Email
- Click the Export Details button, and choose the Export File Format .CSV, click on Export and save the csv file to your disk. e.g. with the filename “Contact.csv”
How to import into Upvise Business Contacts
Goto Upvise Business Contacts and click on the Import link at the top right of the All Contacts screen. Upload the Contact.csv file exported in Data Export or created in Reports.
Then goto All Companies and click on the Import link. Upload the Account.csv file previously exported.
